FAQ
Questions? Answered.
Is it safe for my dishwasher and my dishes?
Yes. Rust Guard is a solid aluminum stick — no chemicals, nothing dissolves into your water beyond the natural protective reaction. It's confirmed food-contact safe by an independent German materials lab and sits in your cutlery basket like any piece of silverware.
How do I know it's actually working?
You'll see it. Over the weeks, the stick visibly darkens — that's the rust it pulled out of your water, collected on the stick instead of your silverware. A dark stick isn't a defect. It's the proof.
Will it help with my already-rusted silverware?
Rust Guard is preventive — it stops new rust from forming. Clean existing spots off once with a standard rust remover, and Rust Guard keeps them from coming back.
When do I need to replace it?
After about 120 wash cycles — roughly 4 months of daily use. When the stick has turned dark and dull across its surface, it's fully loaded and ready to be swapped.
Does it work in hard-water areas?
That's exactly where it shines. Hard water and older pipes carry the iron particles that cause rust spots — Rust Guard was engineered for precisely these conditions, and 85% of U.S. homes have them.
